After more than 30 years of training design and delivery for the National Highway Institute (NHI), CDR expanded its training focus to also include the National Transit Institute (NTI). Our team leads both virtual and in-person training workshops for local and state transit agencies across the country, providing a hands-on curriculum focused on local capacity building.

Through the Public Involvement in Transportation Decision-Making Course, CDR guides transportation planners, equity specialists, and operations experts through best practices in community engagement. Our team of skilled instructors guides participants through individual and group activities to practice foundational communication skills and a variety of public involvement techniques over the three- or four-day course. The curriculum culminates in a simulated group activity in which participants outline and draft a public participation plan for the fictional “Junctionville” community.
